Magical Winter Wedding in Chicago
This Chicago winter wedding was intimate and classic in every way. Each moment from this day cascaded into the next seamlessly. For Kiley and Matt, their love story takes us all the way back to over 10 years ago, from which all of the magic on their wedding day blossomed. So much time and attention to detail went into the planning of this beautiful day and I feel more than honored to have documented it for the new Mr. + Mrs. Sather.
Getting Ready at Home
Their morning moments took place in the comfort of their home in the heart of Chicago’s artistic neighborhood, surrounded by their closest people. Kiley had her hair and makeup team pop in to work their magic right at her dining table. There is something so special about their wedding beginning at their home and having a space they created together immersed in their photos.
The First Look
For Kiley + Matt, something that mattered so deeply to them was having their day feel intimate and centered around what mattered most: celebrating with their people! Let me just start: I LOVE first looks. They bring so much joy and light after a morning of prep, to soak in a quiet moment just the two of you. We hopped around the west loop soaking in the magical Christmas lights for portraits, and the crisp cool air made for their winter wonderland dreams.
The Party
They said their vows and celebrated in an old firehouse, renovated into the most stunning venue. It adds fun and funk to an ordinary wedding, with the ceremony site on the first floor, and a full apartment suite on the top floor with a firepole to make an iconic entrance to the reception. 😉 It was nothing short of stunning from the magical lanterns to the evergreen laid across their tablescapes. They danced allll night long!
